I reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog for the health and safety of myself/or the dog. A muzzle may be used. Services may be discontinued if a dog presents an unsafe condition. Such conditions include but are not limited to: behaviour issues, health problems and parasites or ring worm. Please inform me prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or has any aggressive tendencies whatsoever.

When a dog is presented to me in a severely matted condition, it is my policy to shave the whole coat using electric clippers with a close blade. I will make contact with the you first to discuss this decision. If you are unreachable I will go ahead and shave the coat with the electric clippers. Please be assured that this decision is made with careful consideration to the welfare of your animal. To de-matt would cause your animal tremendous stress and pain, often leaving a very thinned and damaged coat. Shaving the coat is quicker and kinder to your dog. Many dogs are traumatised by unnecessary hours of de-matting, putting them off grooming for life. The best way to prevent matting is to regularly comb your dog at home, especially after it gets wet when it is more prone to matting when the coat is drying.

In the event that de-matting is possible, both by tools or clipping; removing matted coats includes the risk of nicks, cuts or abrasions. If this happens, it will be brought to your attention, but I am not responsible for any vet bills. An extra charge of $1 per minute will be charged for de-matting. Again, I will make contact with you to discuss this decision. If you are unreachable I will go head with the de-matting and the extra charge will be added to your bill.
